GNU/Linux in UK (United Kingdom) and UKRAINE as Per 2024
It grew in the UK and in Ukraine it seems to be approaching 10%.
THE usual caveats apply (statCounter is not accurate), but trends matter. We see similar estimates in other surveys.
Judging by the latest figures, about 7% of desktops and laptops in the UK may be running some kind of GNU/Linux (Android has Linux, but the freedom there is limited to the kernel and AOSP, if even that; ChromeOS isn't that much better in this regard).
Meanwhile, GNU/Linux is measured at 6% in Hong Kong, it is fast-growing in Hungary, and it is now measured at 9% in Ukraine. Here's lots more.
Here in this site we see growing levels of traffic (about 720k hits yesterday) and about 20% of it comes from people whose browser identifies as "linux" something. Things are changing. The media is asleep or rudely dismissive. █
