Calibre 7.26 Open-Source Ebook Manager Is Out with New Features and Bug Fixes
Calibre 7.26 lets you specify web search links that are used when clicking on item names in the Book details panel for custom columns via Preferences->Add your own columns and adds the ability to perform the same action as clicking it in the book details panel when clicking on author names in the book details page.
This release also fixes several bugs, including a regression in the Kobo driver that broke support for very old Kobo devices, an issue when setting custom icons for categories, broken series mapping rules in the metadata preferences, and a regression that caused minor problems with editing metadata directly in the book list.

Calibre 7.26 Update Brings Enhanced Web Search, Metadata Fixes
Only a week after its previous 7.25 release, Calibre, the beloved open-source eBook management software, has rolled out version 7.26, offering a blend of fresh features, bug fixes, and noteworthy improvements.
The new release introduces the ability to specify web search links for custom columns. In more practical terms, when you click on item names in the Book details panel, you can now determine exactly where those links lead.
This can be configured through “Preferences” > “Add your own columns,” giving you finer control over how you navigate to external resources relevant to your books.
