The Linux Foundation launches OpenGrid amid rising data center power demand
The Linux Foundation, a global non-profit consortium, has launched OpenGrid, an initiative focused on improving power grid planning as data centers drive growing demand for electricity. Rather than replacing existing planning software, OpenGrid will provide a common data and interoperability layer that works across commercial and open-source tools, with initial work focused on open standards and schemas, application programming interfaces and a Data Hub for validated, model-ready datasets.
