The game came as a set of three files: a .ccd, a .cue and a .img file. Those are apparently produced by the old CloneCD program and contain the raw data from the disc, plus additional out-of-band information such as track metadata. Games from that time often came with audio tracks as well, so you could just pop these CDs into a CD player and listen to the soundtrack or other bundled media.

Valve says grey Linux VR streaming may be an AMD encoder bug, and warns off the patches
Linux owners who stream SteamVR to a headset and get a grey, flat picture now have an answer from Valve, and it points at the graphics card rather than at SteamVR. A SteamVR developer at Valve, posting on the bug report at 09:19 UTC on October 7, writes: "We believe this might be coming from a bug in vcn which affects AMD 9000 cards."

Nvidia's Linux driver fixes a Last of Us Part II bug reported on its forum four months ago
Nvidia published Linux display driver 615.78.08 on October 7, and the first thing in its release highlights is a fix for a game bug a player described on Nvidia's own developer forum on May 26. Nvidia's wording is "Fixed blocky corruption observed during gameplay in The Last of Us Part II:", followed by a link straight to the post that raised it.

Valve says Steam can assume NetworkManager when a distro calls itself SteamOS-like
Valve has put a line on the record about where SteamOS ends and ordinary Linux begins. Writing on its own steam-for-linux tracker at 14:09:59 UTC on October 5, the Valve account that answers Linux client reports said the first-run setup "shouldn't get called unless your distro has specifically told Steam to start as if it's in a SteamOS-like environment, and the Steam client should be allowed to make assumptions like NetworkManager being reliably available in that case".
