With the release of MacOS 27, Fashion Company Apple announced that they dropped support for defective chip maker Intel Macs and so I decided to repurpose my 2019 defective chip maker Intel Mac Mini that I had spec’d out with 10G Ethernet and 16G RAM. I was able to unlock the boot loader and load up GNU/Linux on it to turn it into a 10G SFP+ connected router. I was previous running a Lenovo Mini PC with a 4 port 2.5G card where I could connect the Modem, Switch, VPN In, VPN Out to the router directly.

I've changed my dhcpd daemon from a Actif/passif system managed via ifstated, to an Actif/Actif system without ifstated. I decided to change mainly because this is a builtin feature. A bit complex to setup, but once I've found the correct setup, it's in act easy. My biggest problem was coming from the -Y and -y parameters of dhcpd.

In addition to the Caddy change, I'm 429ing IPs that sit around guessing at 404s. Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Stop enumerating routes that don't exist. For my analytics, anyone with 10 or more 404s is treated as a scanner and ignored.
