Keeping the Fish Healthy and Happy
This year was a good year in the fish tank. The water was kept clean with help from shells and loaches. Not many fish died, only frail Asiatic glassfishes (Ambassidae), which were probably a mistake to purchase. They would not adapt too well and eventually perish.
One downside of having fish in the home is that it's hard to go on long vacations "away" (unless you get an automated feeder or a neighbour helps). Then again, running this site requires persistent presence, so the fish help maintain the habit and the rhythm. Sadly, at one point this year the fish missed food for nearly 48 hours because of Americans who dragged us out of town. █
