GNOME 48 RC Adds Dynamic Triple Buffering, Wayland Color Management Protocol

GNOME 48 Release Candidate (RC) is packed with lots of goodies compared to the Beta and Alpha versions, including Wayland color management protocol support in the Mutter window and composite manager, which also received support for activating the Activities Overview with either Super key, as well as for centering new windows by default.

Clonezilla Live 3.2.1 Disk Cloning/Imaging Tool Released with Linux 6.12 LTS

Coming four and a half months after Clonezilla Live 3.2, the Clonezilla Live 3.2.1 release bumps the kernel from the Linux 6.11 used in the previous version to Linux 6.12 LTS to provide users with better hardware support. It also rebases the underlying GNU/Linux operating system on the Debian Sid repository as of March 3rd, 2025.

KDE Gear 24.12.3 Improves Dolphin, Konsole, Tokodon, Itinerary, Kasts, and More

KDE Gear 24.12.3 comes a month after KDE Gear 24.12.2 to improve the keyboard-based selection of items in the Dolphin file manager by ignoring diacritics, improve the sort order of the podcasts episodes in the Kasts podcast app, and improve the handling of the cookie policy in the Konqueror web browser.

PipeWire 1.4 Is Out with RISC-V Support, MIDI2 Support, JACK Control API, and More

Highlights of PipeWire 1.4 include support for the RISC-V CPU architecture, a PipeWire JACK control API, DSD playback for the ALSA plugin, a system service for pipewire-pulse, Bluetooth support for BAP broadcast links, support for hearing aids using ASHA, a new G722 codec, and UMP (aka MIDI2) support.
