NVIDIA 580 Linux Graphics Driver Enters Public Beta with Better Wayland Support
The NVIDIA 580 graphics driver series promises improved support for Wayland users by introducing support for the fifo-v1 Wayland protocol on Vulkan and fixing a bug that could cause GTK 4 apps to crash when using the Vulkan backend on Wayland.
NVIDIA 580 also promises to implement another feature that reduces the time spent in the interrupt top half for low-latency display interrupts by deferring the work until later. This feature is disabled by default and can be enabled by loading nvidia.ko kernel module with the NVreg_RegistryDwords=RmEnableAggressiveVblank=1 parameter.
