Linux Mint 21.3 Officially Released, This is What’s New
Following a successful bout of bug-busting in last month’s beta release, Mint devs have gone ahead and rubber-stamped a stable release. Thus, you can reasonably expect to not encounter any major issues when installing or using it.
This is 3rd major stable release in the Linux Mint 21.x series, following on from the Linux Mint 21.2 release back in the summer. Like those, it’s based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and continues to use the Linux 5.15 kernel by default, but newer kernels are available to install within the OS.

Linux Mint 21.3 released with Cinnamon 6.0 and experimental Wayland support
One of the easiest Linux distributions to use, Linux Mint, has a major new release available with Linux Mint 21.3 'Virginia' now officially released.
This is probably one of their biggest releases in quite some time, based on Linux kernel 5.15 and Ubuntu 22.04 it will see security updates until 2027. Coming with Cinnamon 6.0 that brings with it lots of new features, including (finally) experimental Wayland support which is not quite ready for prime-time yet. But it's necessary, since every distribution is moving over to Wayland and focusing on it. Mint can't get left behind there.

Linux Mint 21.3 “Virginia” (including upgrade) is now available
Clem Lefebvre, head of the Linux Mint project, has announced the release of Linux Mint 21.3 “Virginia”. The new update is available for download for fresh installs and the upgrade is available in the Mint Update tool too.
The fact that the upgrade is already available at the same time as the ISO is a bit unusual because the ISOs usually land first with upgrades being enabled a week or so later. With that said, the beta period has been about twice as long as usual.
Linux Mint 21.3 is going to be the last release before the next major version, Linux Mint 22. It is based on Ubuntu 22.04 like other Linux Mint 21.x releases and is supported until 2027.

Linux Mint 21.3 Released! Cinnamon 6.0 & Initial Wayland Support
It’s the 3rd update for the Mint 21 release series, which is based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and uses Kernel 5.15 LTS.
The new Linux Mint 21.3 features Cinnamon Desktop 6.0, with experimental Wayland support. Which, has been default in Ubuntu (since 22.04), Fedora Workstation, and other Linux with recent Gnome. However, there are still many applications do NOT work on wayland.
