The Register UK ☛ Asahi fork embraces LLMs and lands Linux on the M4 Mac mini
Gravity Linux is a newly announced distro targeting newer Apple Silicon Macs, and its first experimental alpha already boots an accelerated desktop on the M4 Mac mini.
The project homepage says: "Gravity Linux is a Fedora remix that brings a fast, modern Linux desktop to Apple Silicon – built in the open, by people like you."
If this sounds familiar, the About page explains: "Gravity Linux was initially forked from Asahi Linux over differences in policy, namely regarding LLM use. We have tremendous respect for the Asahi Linux project and emphasize our shared goal of running Linux on Apple Silicon."

Community users have observed the latest version of AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 4.1.1 scaling technology working natively in the game. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on the video card Radeon RX 6650 XT, based on the RDNA 2 architecture. Testing was conducted on a Linux operating system running the specialized CachyOS distribution with the Linux 7.2.6 kernel and the KDE Plasma graphical environment. The benchmark setup included a twelve-thread Intel Core i5-11400F CPU with a clock speed of up to 4,40 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and a graphics stack based on the latest versions of the open-source Mesa drivers.

Reported Intel Xe driver changes target two VRAM issues in Linux 7.4 [Ed: This site might be a slopfarm, not sure yet]
The separate page-offlining change is intended to permanently exclude known faulty physical VRAM pages from subsequent allocations. In practical terms, the driver would avoid assigning those pages to later memory requests. Faulty regions would be exposed through DebugFS.
