With Linux Mint 22.2 “Zara” hitting the streets earlier this month, the Linux Mint devs will now focus their efforts on the Linux Mint Debian Edition 7 (codename Gigi) release, which will be based on the Debian 13 “Trixie” operating system series and offer all the new features that were implemented in Linux Mint 22.2.

MKVToolNix 95.0 MKV Manipulation Tool Improves the Chapter Generation Feature

Dubbed “Goodbye Stranger”, the MKVToolNix 95.0 release improves the chapter generation feature in the MKVToolNix GUI by implementing a new placeholder when generating chapters for appended files, which will be replaced by the appended file’s title metadata.

This release also improves matrix displaying from MP4 files to be translated into the appropriate roll and yaw values for output MKV files, and adds a --date argument to the mkvmerge command for setting the date metadata.
