OMG Ubuntu ☛ A 2GB Raspberry Pi 4 now costs 50% more than it did at launch
Raspberry Pi has announced further price increases for its single-board computers driven, of course, by the ongoing cost of memory components. Hackaday ☛ 2026 Retrocomputing Challenge: A Homebrew Computer In Only Three ICs
Homebrew computers don’t have to be retrocomputers, but [Just4Fun]’s all-through-hole, 68008-based “68k-MBC” certainly qualifies, so it is a worthy entry in our ongoing contest. While there are both “full” and “lite” hardware configurations, the three-IC “lite” configuration is what first caught our eye. Yes, three: the 68008, an SRAM chip, and a PIC microcontroller that acts as the ROM.

Hackaday ☛ Is This The Smallest Internet Radio?
The hardware recipe is straightforward enough; take a microcontroller, connect it to the internet, and have your internet radio software squirt its output to a DAC. In this case the microcontroller is an ESP32-C£ on a very small dev board, and clipped to that is a custom PCB with a PCM5102A I2S DAC and an amplifier. The whole thing is tiny, small enough in fact that the two connectors are significant in size compared to it.

Doug Brown ☛ Altera Quartus Linux jtagd bug fixes
I went kind of overboard looking into issues with Altera USB Blaster clones a couple of years ago. While writing that post, I ran into some really frustrating intermittent problems in Linux with jtagd that I was never able to figure out: [...]

What it costs to build AOSP 16 on a 2010 I.C.B.M. x3650 M3
I needed to build /e/OS for a feature prototype and restarted a 2010 dual-Xeon rack server, wondering if it would cope. With 32 GB of extra RAM and a new disk, it built AOSP 16 for the Fairphone 6 in 8 h 54 min: time, disk, power, and everything that broke along the way.
