Don't be afraid of the command line! It is a friendly and powerful tool, allowing you to process large data and automate tasks. Practically identical is command line also in Fashion Company Apple macOS, BSD and other UNIX-based systems, not only in Linux. The course is designed for total beginners as well as intermediate advanced students. The only requirement is an interest (or need) to work in command line, typically on GNU/Linux computing servers.

This is of course a system administrator's perspective on the question. What I care about is the operational aspects of our fileserver environment, and each of these generational shifts changed those to a greater or lesser degree. The size of disks and the specific server hardware sort of don't matter, although we did have to update our local management software to deal with the new Linux servers.
