Medium ☛ Linux Can Be Incredibly Frustrating
When I switched to Linux at the end of 2025, I knew that it wouldn’t be all sunshine and roses. I knew that there would be roadblocks and things to figure out.
Some easy. Some nearly enough to make me give up and go back to Windows.
I don’t regret switching, but I do wish certain things weren’t so convoluted. They don’t have to be.

Yardi Acquires Sidero Labs To Expand Secure Kubernetes And Virtualization Infrastructure
Yardi has acquired Sidero Labs, the infrastructure software company behind Talos Linux and Omni, in a transaction that gives Sidero Labs the backing of a much larger enterprise software organization while preserving the open-source model that has helped Talos gain adoption across tens of thousands of Kubernetes clusters. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Barry Kauler ☛ EasyOS Excalibur-series version 7.4.9 released
Oh wow, uploading took all day. I'm at a caravan park in rural Western Australia, that has free wifi. It is by StarLink, which is slower to upload than download. But this is incredible; started uploading the latest EasyOS, by sunset still only about halfway.
My phone contract is with Vodafone; however, Vodafone has poor coverage in rural regions. Whereas, Telstra has good rural coverage. I have a second phone with a Telstra sim, a prepaid sim, not a contract. Gave up on the wifi, did a 28-day recharge, 20GB, on the Telstra sim, AU$44, and finished the upload very fast. Telstra has 5G in this town.
