About two weeks from now we'll finish a 200-part series in the sister site (more series will follow after that) and today we see resistance from a voice we wish not to associate with. The community is being divided along political or pseudo-political or quasi-political lines, where perceived voting habits determine - on a purely binary basis - what software one is "permitted" to use and what's "impermissible". They try to call all sorts of things "Nazi" or "Woke". If you use X11 (or XLibre), then you're just a nazi, whereas if you adopt Wayland you are woke. Or something like that...
They've politicised Rust similarly, both for users and developers. It's sick.
Here in Tux Machines we don't "take sides" because software is meant to be developed based on scientific and technological principles, where peers in the occupation determine winners or losers based on pragmatism and objective merits, not based on blacklists, name-calling, and cancel brigades in social control media. █
