The popular lsfg-vk project that brings Lossless Scaling's frame generation to Linux now has the big 2.0 release officially out. After a bit of an upset over it changing licenses and moving on from GitHub, it's nice to see it still going.
With it you can gain a fair amount of extra performance in some titles, but there can be drawbacks like extra input lag. It's certainly not a one-size-fits-all tool. You also need to own a copy of Lossless Scaling on Steam to get it to work, as this just brings features from it to Linux. -
Lossless Scaling Frame Gen for Linux gets 2.0.0 update, including “3-4x performance increase” on Steam Deck
lsvg-vk has received its long-awaited 2.0 update, bringing major improvements to performance, memory usage, compatibility, and ease of use. For those not in the know, lsfg-vk is the Linux implementation (via Vulkan) of Lossless Scaling’s frame gen technology, which also brings compatibility to the Steam Deck’s Linux-based operating system, SteamOS.
