Spanish PC company Slimbook has been partnering with the developers of the KDE open source desktop environment to sell KDE Slimbook-branded laptops since 2017.
Like every model in the lineup, the new KDE Slimbook VII ships with the KDE Neon GNU/Linux distribution pre-installed. But it’s the most powerful model to date thanks to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 10-core, 20-thread processor with 12-core Radeon 880M integrated graphics. The new model should begin shipping in December, and it’s available for pre-order now for 1029€ ($1190) and up.

The KDE Slimbook VII is a new Linux-based laptop designed to offer compelling value. Starting at €1,029 (US$1,185), the base model features a Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, integrated Radeon 880M graphics, and a high-speed 165 Hz display.
Measuring 20.3 mm (0.8 in) thick and weighing 1.86 kg (4.10 lb), the KDE Slimbook VII features an aluminium chassis with an understated design. It includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad, a multitouch trackpad, and quad speakers. Beyond its build, the laptop aims to stand out with solid performance.
To achieve this, Slimbook has equipped the device with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, which boasts 10 cores, 20 threads, and boost frequencies of up to 5.0 GHz. The integrated Radeon 880M is at least powerful enough for older or less demanding games. The notebook supports up to 16 TB of storage via two PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs, and up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 memory. The built-in 16-inch IPS display delivers a 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. The company claims a peak brightness of 400 nits and full sRGB coverage.
