Terence Eden ☛ Reasonably accurate, privacy conscious, cookieless, visitor tracking for WordPress
I am vain. I like to know which of my blog posts have "done numbers". I get a little thrill knowing that an old post I wrote has been read by someone in a land I've never visited. I'm curious and want to know if a newsletter has linked to me.
At the same time, I don't want to know too much about people. I don't want to stalk them around the web. I refuse to care how long they spend with me. I can't be bothered setting up a foolproof system that captures 100% accurate information.
After trying several analytics plugins for WordPress, I've decided to have a go at writing my own0.

Boiling Steam ☛ New Steam Games with Native GNU/Linux Clients, including Silksong and Cronos: The New Dawn - 2025-09-10 Edition
Between 2025-09-03 and 2025-09-10 there were 47 New Steam games released with Native GNU/Linux clients. For reference, during the same time, there were 377 games released for backdoored Windows on Steam, so the GNU/Linux versions represent about 12.5 % of total released titles. In this past week, we have already mentioned the release of Silksong, but there’s also the horror game Cronos: The New Dawn from Bloober Team, who are specialists in the genre. Seems like they executed almost perfectly on that one.

Rachel ☛ Debian 13, Postgres, and the US/* time zones
It took far too long to realize what was going on here. So I went, okay, uh, US/Los_Angeles? No. It's now America/Los_Angeles.
The worst part about this is that it didn't get so much as a mention in the Debian 13 release notes. I read through that document before going for it and never encountered it. Indeed, even now, you won't find "tzdata" or "zone" in it.
