Blizzard Entertainment Is Cutting 100+ Jobs
We’re getting a report from Insider Gaming, which credits the Irish Examiner for the latest dreary news. Blizzard Entertainment plans to cut 136 jobs at their offices in Cork, Ireland. We don’t have any insight into what particular positions were cut. Still, if reports are accurate, then there are only 200 people who are employed at this office location to begin with. So, we’re looking at a massive downsize for this particular location.

The company employee about 200 people at its Cork office, with news of the cuts coming via Micheal Martin, deputy head of government, while talking in the Dáil. The World of Warcraft creator set up operations in Ireland over a decade ago, and if the job cuts do indeed happen, it will lose a significant amount of staff at the Cork office.

The endless saga of the legal battle between the FTC and Microsoft for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard continues, with the house of Xbox countering one of the regulator's latest moves and the Judge opting to take more time to rule on it.
Microsoft's counsel filed a motion opposing the FTC's attempt to exclude evidence and testimonies on the alleged procompetitive effect of the agreements with Ubisoft, Sony, Nintendo, Nvidia, Boosteroid, Cloudware, and Ubitus.
