mackup - keeps application settings in sync - LinuxLinks
mackup is a tool to keep your application settings in sync. Mackup is just a portmanteau of Mac and Backup. It is simple, short, and easy to remember, and it corresponds with the whole idea of Mackup: the simpler – the better
By only tracking pure configuration files, it keeps the rubbish out of your freshly new installed workstation (no cache, temporary and locally specific files are transferred).
Mackup makes setting up the environment easy and simple.
There are 2 modes of operations: copy mode and link mode.
This is free and open source software. It runs under Linux and macOS.
BOSGAME M6 HX370 AI PC running Linux - BIOS - LinuxLinks
This is a new series looking at the BOSGAME M6 HX370 AI PC running Linux. In this series, I’ll examine every aspect of this Mini PC in detail from a Linux perspective.
In the world of computing, BIOS, which stands for Basic Input/Output System, plays a crucial role. It’s a type of firmware that kicks in to provide essential runtime services for operating systems and programs, while also handling the hardware initialization needed during the boot-up process. When you power on your computer, the BIOS firmware, typically pre-installed on the motherboard, ensures everything starts up smoothly.
A generous visitor donated a basic video capture device to me. I’ll use this device to give you a quick tour of the M6’s BIOS. The capture device lets me capture attractive screenshots of the BIOS which look decidedly better than any camera could take. I’m not providing images of everything possible for brevity.
