Collection of Ubuntu 24.04 Tutorials Part II: CHM, AppImages, Telegram and Synaptic

This is the second compilation of our Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat tutorials which have been published here at The Ubuntu Buzz since 2024. In last compilation, we talked about downloading Ubuntu up to selecting our repository server among others. In this episode, we will remind you about CHM ebooks, AppImages, Telegram Desktop as well as the classic but powerful Synaptic Package Manager with a short review for each. We hope this compilation series will be useful to you and everyone. This marks our last article of that year in the month May. Please enjoy!

DietPi September 2025 Update Brings Faster Backups and Roon Server Early Access

The September 20th release of DietPi v9.17 introduces smaller and more efficient system images, faster backups with reduced disk usage, and a new toggle for Roon Server’s early access builds. The update also addresses SPI bootloader flashing issues on Rockchip devices, improves Raspberry Pi sound card handling, and includes multiple bug fixes across tools and software.

It also extends to wireless communication, enabling interaction with Sub-GHz radios, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RFID, and RF24 devices. A built-in scripting engine allows automation using Bus Pirate-style bytecode instructions or Python.

SysLinuxOS 13 Mate released

SysLinuxOS 13 Mate released. SysLinuxOS 13 (for System Integrators) follows the release of Debian 13 codename Trixie, bringing with it the robustness and security of a Debian Stable OS.

SysLinuxOS 13 is now available with several enhancements and new features. Some of these improvements are under the hood, providing additional functionality. SysLinuxOS 13 comes with the Mate desktop environment as the primary option, while the version with Gnome will be released next week.
