Mozilla, the people behind the Firefox web browser, has been getting rather a lot of flack lately.
They acquired an advertising company, are adding built-in browser integration with commercial large language model service companies (which so far has received over 3100 replies, the overwhelming majority of those negative), and have decided to shut down their Mastodon instance at mozilla.social after just a year and a half (the instance was set up in early May 2023). Among else.
In response to this, quite a few people on the Fediverse in particular are arguing for ditching Firefox for alternative browsers.
