Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by installing Manjaro Linux 22.0 ’Sikaris'
Tomorrow is one of the most important days of the year -- Jesus Christ's birthday! Also known as "Christmas," many people celebrate the holiday by giving gifts to friends and family. And of course, Santa Claus will be delivering many great presents to all the non-naughty children of the world too.
As an early Christmas gift, the Linux community is getting something very special today -- Manjaro 22.0! Code-named "Sikaris," this operating system is based on the excellent Arch Linux. If you love using a modern kernel, you will be happy to know Manjaro 22.0 comes with version 6.1. There are three desktop environments from which to choose -- GNOME (43), KDE Plasma (5.26), and Xfce (4.18).

Manjaro Linux 22.0 "Sikaris" Is the First Distro Release Powered by Linux Kernel 6.1 and Xfce 4.18 - 9to5Linux
After months of hard work, the Manjaro Linux team announced today the release of Manjaro Linux 22.0 “Sikaris” as the latest version of this widespread Arch Linux-based distribution for the masses bringing some of the most exciting GNU/Linux and Open Source software.
Coming six months after the Manjaro Linux 21.3 “Ruah” release, Manjaro Linux 22.0 “Sikaris” is powered by the just-released Linux 6.1 kernel series for the best possible hardware support at the moment of writing and features the amazing Xfce 4.18 desktop environment for its flagship edition. This probably makes Manjaro Linux the first stable distro release to ship with both Linux 6.1 and Xfce 4.18.
The KDE Plasma and GNOME editions received the latest KDE Plasma 5.26.4 desktop environment update, which is accompanied by the recently released KDE Frameworks 5.101 and KDE Gear 22.12 software suites for the best Plasma desktop experience possible, as well as the latest GNOME 43.2 desktop environment update, which looks gorgeous with its dark theme and a dock at the bottom of the screen.

Manjaro 22.0 ‘Sikaris’ is Now Available to Download - OMG! Linux
A brand new version of Manjaro, a popular Arch-based Linux distro, is available to download.
Manjaro 22.0 “Sikaris” makes a stack of updated tech available to users, including Network Manager 1.40, PipeWire 0.3.57, Mesa 22.1.7, and a refresh to the Calamares installer. The recent Linux 6.1 kernel is available in this release.
Three distinct editions, each based around a different open-source desktop environment, are available. I personally use the regular KDE version, but the GNOME and Xfce editions are pretty popular too.
Manjaro GNOME edition ships with GNOME 43 (which features a wealth of improvements across the board including a more user-friendly Quick Settings menu).
Manjaro also updates its “Layouts Switcher” app with the ability to create dynamic wallpaper pairs (that change with system dark mode preference) and an toggle to fetch the latest version of the Firefox GNOME Theme for better integration.
Manjaro Xfce is based around the new Xfce 4.18 release, which includes split view, file highlighting, and recursive search in the Thunar file manager, new panel options, and other miscellaneous improvements.
