Johnny Decimal ☛ JD CLI updated: now creates filesystem folders
Now if you try to jd 11.11 to a folder, and that folder doesn't exist, and your JDex is readable by the CLI – i.e. Markdown files on disk, i.e. Obsidian - then it'll create the folder for you.

D2: Declarative Diagramming ☛ TALA is open-source | D2 Documentation
TALA is a novel autolayout algorithm designed with software architecture diagrams in mind. This means it's primarily an orthogonal layout engine, which more closely matches what you might find on whiteboards, rather than the DAG-based ones that grow in one direction. It blends ideas from different graph-drawing research papers (cited in source code) along with original techniques to achieve aesthetic diagrams. It considers multiple objectives of "aesthetic", including symmetry, median distance, flow, clustering of like nodes, and much more.
I'll keep the text short and lead with examples.

Ruben Schade ☛ Web form invalid validation
A few years ago talked about the bizarre and frustrating trend of websites prematurely validating text as you’re typing, for no (good) reason:
One character? That’s not a valid email!
Two characters? That’s not a valid email!
ncharacters? And now you’ve finished typing in that field, and its lost focus as you go to the next field? You must be done typing now. Huh. I guess you did have a valid email in mind after all. -
Hackaday ☛ It’s GNU Radio Companion, But In The Browser
Loading it up gives you a very familiar window if you’re used to GNU Radio Companion, and it comes with a set of example flowgraphs that cover a large range of applications. It supports a collection of software-defined radios (SDRs) including the well-known RTL-SDR, and if that’s not enough it can also use your sound card. There is even a set of recorded off-air captures to experiment with.

LWN ☛ LibreOffice Base survey results
Heiko Tietze has published a blog post summarizing the results of a recent survey about the use of LibreOffice's database application, Base. 455 people participated in the survey, including more than 330 who use Base on Linux, with use cases ranging from maintaining records of personal media such as CDs or DVDs to use enterprise-resource planning (ERP) and finance.

EFF ☛ Digital Sovereignty: What It Is, What It Could Be
There is no singular definition of digital sovereignty, nor is there a single coherent position in the digital rights space. Despite its growing popularity, the term remains frustratingly vague. Policymakers, regulators, civil society groups, and others can mean very different things when they use the term. But to start simply with a broad definition, we can say that it means having the capacity to control one’s digital destiny—though the implications of that will obviously differ considerably whether you’re talking about an individual or a country.
