OMG Ubuntu ☛ BleachBit 6.0.4 brings faster scanning, better browser cleaning
A new version of BleachBit, an open-source system cleaning tool, is out. BleachBit 6.0.4 brings everything I mentioned in my spot on the BleachBit 6.0.4 beta release, including macOS support for the first time – albeit in an early state, and including a Cleaner for Safari and a choice of the (neat) BleachBit CLI or an early GUI. backdoored Windows and GNU/Linux users all benefit from faster startup times and scanning speeds, and gain new cleaners for Android Studio, Gradle’s cache, fish and Zsh shells and Python CLI.

It's FOSS ☛ Privacy Notes: Markdown Editor With Built-in Encrypted Vault
Privacy Notes offers different kinds of templates, secret vault, burn after reading and an optional zero-knowledge encrypted sync.
There is no dearth of note taking apps for Linux. There are tools like Obsidian that are local first, tools like Joplin that are both local and cloud. There are also collaborative tools like Etherpad that put encrypted notes on a remote server.
And then I come across a new tool this week called Privacy Notes. It mixes several things at once and tries to be the "one note app to rule them all". It is Markdown-first with WYSIWYG editor, vault for storing passwords, ssh keys etc, journal and more.

Ruben Schade ☛ Navidrome metadata tips
I’ve talked about how Clara and I use the Navidrome self-hosted music streaming service here. It’s great! This isn’t an installation guide, more an aggregated post of various tips and ideas.
Essential tooling
We use the Kid3 audio tagger for editing track metadata and cleaning up filenames. It’s free, cross platform, and works well. We sometimes use Musicbrains Picard as well to help identify tracks. Our music server runs on a Samba share, so we edit them directly, then move them into the appropriate folders for Navidrome.
