Kind Support From Our Community
There is another heatwave heading our way next week. This time we can leverage it (or take advantage) to spend more time outside. Earlier this year one reader sent us kind remarks regarding what was being done to us after Rianne had been subjected to hate crimes (the crimes went further than this and a judge accepted that this happened). This was done by an absolutely abhorrent misogynist. It's wrong to punish the victims while letting the perpetrator (in Canada) get away with it, he was part of a group of incels. They're still talking this month. They still try to coordinate how to punish women. It's despicable. Some people seem to derive joy from abuse of women.
"I also wanted to express my gratitude," the reader said, "not just on my own behalf, but on behalf of the next generation of free software advocates - for your work, both editorially and financially, in support of the FSF. I hope one day to be in a position where I can make a significant contribution myself. As a practicing Christian myself, I deeply resonated with your explanation of why you donated. Matthew 19:24 comes to mind: “Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”"
We give money away to good causes and good people, as it's the only way to make the world a better place for everybody. █
