SECO has added two compact industrial platforms based on Qualcomm’s Dragonwing IQ-2390 processor: the Compact Vision 5 Dragonwing IQ-2390, a 5-inch panel-mounted HMI, and the SBC-Dragonwing-IQ-2390, a 47 × 114mm single-board computer for custom embedded systems. Both platforms support on-device AI, industrial connectivity and SECO’s Yocto Linux-based Clea OS.

Clicks Communicator brings 4.03-inch AMOLED display and physical keyboard to Android 17

Clicks is preparing the Communicator, a compact Android smartphone built around a physical keyboard and a 4.03-inch AMOLED touchscreen. The device uses MediaTek’s 4nm Dimensity 8300 platform, includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and is designed to operate either as a standalone phone or alongside another smartphone.

NixOS-Based Garuda Linux Dr460nized and Mokka Editions Are Out Now

The Garuda Nix Subsystem has been around for some time as an add-on for Garuda Linux installations, allowing you to dual-boot with a NixOS installation living in the same partition via a subvolume. The subsystem has now been rebranded to Garuda Nix and can be used directly from a Garuda Linux live system.

MX Linux 25.3 “Infinity” Is Out with Linux Kernel 7.2, Based on Debian 13.7

Coming four months after MX Linux 25.2, the MX Linux 25.3 release is based on the latest Debian 13.7 “Trixie” operating system release and features the long-term supported Linux 6.12 LTS kernel on the standard ISOs, while a Liquorix-flavored Linux 7.2 kernel is now used on the Xfce AHS (Advanced Hardware Support) ISO.

Clonezilla Live 3.3.3-37 Disk Imaging Tool Released with Linux Kernel 7.1

Coming two months after Clonezilla Live 3.3.3-15, the Clonezilla Live 3.3.3-37 release bumps the kernel from Linux 7.0 to Linux 7.1 for better hardware support, and updates the underlying GNU/Linux operating system to the latest packages from the Debian Sid repository as of September 13th, 2026.

Software Freedom Day (SFD) 2026 was big this year.

Continents can be classified and counted in various ways; if one counts south and north America as separate, then we can see evidence of SFD events in 6 continents.

We saw one in Canada (apparently US also, virtually at least), there are events coming to Brazil and EU, and we caught many in Australia and in New Zealand also ("Software Freedom Day Wellington 2026").

As for Asia, there's Manila and Bukidnon. Photos below.

While there's evidence of a Document Freedom Day in Noida, India (in 2026) it is hard to find SFD in India this year. █
