No Clownflare, No Problems
We can hardly remember the last time we suffered DDoS attacks or had any considerable downtime. Doing static sites/pages and reducing complexity paid off and saved us a lot of time, not just a lot of trouble. That also helps us keep costs down. This completely revolutionised things for us.
In case folks didn't notice, Clownflare has once again gone belly-up, rendering a lot of the Web inaccessible [1, 2]. Since we never used a CDN like this and all our images are locally hosted, this had no impact on us.
Don't use Clownflare. There are many legal, ethical and technical reasons not to. █
