WHEN this site turned 15 (and later turned 20) we didn't exactly know if it would continue to grow, seeing that the Web is waning and news sites generally perish over time. And nevertheless, the site continued to grow, a year ago it escaped the shackles of MySQL/PHP/Drupal for good, and so far this week we serve over a million requests every day. We believe that the server - and by extension the site - got better connectivity in recent weeks. This means lower latency and faster page-loads. Below are requests from the US to our server in the UK, which are about 10 times slower than requests from the UK. That's still quite fast. █
