Cassidy James Blaede: Here’s to What’s Next [Ed: While Zemlin et al (people who reject Linux) rake in GAFAM money to exploit people who develop Free software the developers themselves lack income]
For the past three and a half years, I’ve done the most rewarding work of my life with Endless Access (formerly Endless OS Foundation). I’ve helped ship Endless OS on computers to tens of thousands of people in need around the globe—people who might not otherwise have access to a real computer and especially reliable access to all of the offline knowledge and tools that come out of the box. I’ve visited students and teachers in the rural US who are struggling due to a lack of funding, and watched as their eyes lit up when they got ahold of Endless Key, an app packed full of safe and fun offline materials to support their self-guided learning. And I’ve helped learners and educators both unlock so much creativity and skill-building with our game-making learning programs and related open source projects.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end: due to strategic decisions at the organization, my particular role won’t exist in the coming months. That said, I have some time to look for my next challenge and adventure—and I am excited to do so purposefully.

Matt Palmer ☛ Matthew Palmer: Progress on my open source funding experiment
When I recently announced that I was starting an open source crowd-funding experiment, I wasn’t sure what would happen. Perhaps there’d be radio silence, or a huge out-pouring of interest from people who wanted to see more open source code in the world. What’s happened so far has been… interesting.

Society for Scholarly Publishing ☛ Guest Post — Beyond Open Access, Part 1: Make Academic Content Truly Accessible for All
Academic publishing stands at a critical juncture where accessibility has become more than just a compliance requirement. It’s an ethical imperative — and an opportunity for innovation.
While open access has revolutionized how research reaches readers, true accessibility encompasses a broader spectrum of considerations that institutions, publishers, and service providers must address to create genuinely inclusive scholarly communication.
