Orange Pi Neo is a Linux handheld gaming PC with Ryzen 7 7840U
Last year we learned that the company behind the Orange Pi line of single-board computers planned to branch out into the handheld gaming PC market. This week at FOSDEM in Belgium, developers from the Manjaro Linux team are showing off the first Orange Pi handheld running their GNU/Linux-based operating system.
The Orange Pi Neo has a 7 inch FHD+ 120 Hz display, an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor, and Steam Deck-style touchpads in addition to game controllers. You can also find more pictures and detailed specs at the Manjaro website, and on social media.

Orange Pi Neo gaming handheld to come with Manjaro Linux
Shown off during the recent FOSDEM 2024 event, it seems the Manjaro Linux team have buddied up with hardware vendor Orange Pi for the Orange Pi Neo gaming handheld.
The system has not been fully announced by Orange Pi directly as of yet, but the Manjaro Linux team put various (1) posts (2) on X (formerly Twitter) and they have a dedicated page on their website for the Orange Pi Neo that goes over the specifications.

We've been seeing a whole horde of Windows gaming handhelds hitting the market over the last few months, in reaction to Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck success. However, for the first time since Valve's on-the-go gaming device hit the scene, we're finally getting another Linux-based gaming handheld in the form of the Orange Pi Neo. What's more, it will specifically run on the Manjaro Linux operating system, which really makes it the first direct competitor to the Steam Deck which runs a Linux-based OS.

More details on the Manjaro Orange Pi Neo gaming handheld
Announced earlier this month, the Orange Pi Neo is a gaming handheld coming out a bit like the Steam Deck but it will be running Manjaro Linux. Recently the Manjaro team gave out a bit more info that was all in a Q&A post on the official Manjaro forum.
