The FREE-WILi 2 (Founder Edition) is an open-hardware, portable hacking multitool and lab designed for hardware hackers, pentesters, and embedded system developers. Designed as an “open electronics multitool,” it combines a range of chips and modules into a handheld device, including two Raspberry Pi RP2350 MCUs, an ESP32-C5 for wireless connectivity, a Lattice ICE40UP5K FPGA, and a Raspberry Pi CM0 for running a full GNU/Linux OS. The device also features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, a 14-button physical interface, and modular “Orca” headers for hardware expansion.

The biggest change is undoubtedly moving the alarm state machine and all logic from the Raspberry Pi to an Arduino Mega. There are three main reasons for this move:
• It’s fun and I’d like to work more with the Arduino
• The Arduino Mega has 16 analog inputs, making it possible to use end-of-line resistors
• An alarm system needs to be stable — not crash, hang or get a corrupted SD card -

But not anymore. I'm testing the OpenNMC from NetCube Systems Austria. Its firmware is completely open source, meaning you have full ownership of the software that runs on it. It has a built-in NUT server, it's hot-pluggable just like APC's cards, and it even has Wi-Fi if you need that!

WayDroid-ATV has published a set of Waydroid Android TV builds on GitHub. The images run Android TV on top of an existing Linux install rather than replacing it, so a desktop or server keeps doing its normal work while the TV interface runs alongside.
