PostgreSQL ☛ PostgreSQL@SCaLE24x CfP closing soon on Nov 1, 2027
Hi folks!
We're hosting a PostgreSQL track at SCaLE again — come join us in sunny Pasadena!
PostgreSQL@SCaLE is a two-day event on Thursday–Friday, April 1–2, 2027, at the Pasadena Convention Center, part of SCaLE 24x (April 1–4).
The program brings together PostgreSQL core contributors, long-time community leaders, and professionals running Postgres in production to share practical, experience-driven knowledge. Sessions cover how PostgreSQL works, how to operate it reliably at scale, and how to use it well in modern systems — from foundational operations through advanced internals and large-scale deployments.

PostgreSQL ☛ ReviveDB: Supabase backups restore-tested against the source schema
ReviveDB backs up Supabase projects on Postgres 17 outside Supabase, and restores every database backup into a temporary PostgreSQL database before it counts as verified.
The restore is compared with an inventory of the source: tables, rows, columns, constraints, indexes, sequences, views, functions, triggers, RLS policies, grants and extensions. Row counts alone miss a restore that loses a constraint or a policy.
Each backup run uses its own short-lived, read-only Postgres role that also reads rows behind row-level security. The same recovery point holds Auth data, Storage files and Edge Functions.
A recovery point restores into a new Supabase project, or into the original after a rehearsal on a copy. Free for one project: https://revivedb.dev

PostgreSQL ☛ Oxynote: an open source internal wiki with live PostgreSQL query charts
Oxynote is a new open-source (Apache-2.0) internal wiki for engineering teams. A page can include a chart that runs its own query against Prometheus, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB right next to the explanatory text, and changes to important pages go through a draft, a diff, and approval, like a pull request.
Internal docs go stale because people open them only when something breaks. Live data gives the team a reason to open a page every day, and pages read daily stay up to date.

PostgreSQL ☛ Estuary Expands PostgreSQL CDC with Targeted Backfills and Scalable Discovery
Estuary has released several updates to its PostgreSQL change data capture (CDC) connector focused on backfill recovery, discovery at scale, and schema-change detection.
Targeted Backfills
PostgreSQL capture bindings now support an Additional Backfill Filter, allowing a SQL expression to be applied to backfill queries for an individual table.
This can reduce the amount of data that needs to be re-read when only a subset of a large PostgreSQL table needs to be recovered or re-backfilled. For example, teams can use an indexed identifier or timestamp to limit the rows included in a recovery backfill.
