antiX-21 (Grup_Yorum) is based on Debian Bullseye and is fully systemd-free.

As usual we offer the following systemd-free flavours for both 32 and 64 bit architecture, running sysVinit or runit. The 32 bit versions use a non-pae kernel.

antiX-full (c1.4GB) – 4 windows managers – IceWM (default), fluxbox, jwm and herbstluftwm plus full libreoffice suite. x64 versions come with 2 kernels. Legacy 4.9 and Modern 5.10

antiX-base (<<800MB – fits on 800MB cd) – 4 windows managers – IceWM (default), fluxbox, jwm and herbstluftwm.

    antiX 21 Update Available to Download, antiX 21 is a lightweight, Debian-based distribution. The project’s latest release is based on Debian 11 “Bullseye” and features the SysV init software along with both recent and older kernels for wider hardware support.

    A list of key packages is available in the project’s release announcement: ” Based on Debian 11 (Bullseye), but without systemd and libsystemd0. eudev instead of udev. Customised 4.9.0-279 kernel with fbcondecor splash. Customised 5.10.57 kernel (x64 full only). LibreOffice 7.0.4-4. Firefox-esr 78.14.0esr-1 on antiX-full. Seamonkey 2.53.9.1 on antiX-base. claws-mail 3.17.8-1. CUPS for printing. XMMS – for audio. Celluloid and mpv – for playing video. SMTube – play youtube videos without a using a browser. streamlight-antix – stream videos with very low RAM usage. qpdfview – pdf reader. arc-evopro2-theme-antix.” The distribution is available in four editions, ranging in size from largest to smallest: Full, Base, Core, and Net.

  • Systemd-free antiX 21 Release Brings in Debian 11 “Bullseye” as its base With New Applications

    AntiX, a popular Debian-based distro for users not wanting Systemd, has just announced its version 21 release. This release brings a couple of improvements, most notably using Debian 11 as a base, alongside updated apps and kernels.

    Before we start, it should be noted that AntiX uses SysVinit, instead of the much more popular Systemd. This means that it may not be ideal for beginners. With that out of the way, let’s look at some of the exciting changes in AntiX 21!

  • Lightweight antiX 21 Linux Distribution Released

    Published release of lightweight Live-distribution AntiX 21 , optimized for installation on outdated hardware. The release is based on the Debian 11 package base, but comes without the systemd system manager and with eudev instead of udev. You can choose to use runit or sysvinit for initialization. The default user environment is created using the IceWM window manager. ZzzFM and ROX-Filer are available to work with files.

On Linux handbook, we already have a guide on deploying Ghost with Docker in a reverse proxy setup. Instead of Ngnix reverse proxy, you can also use another software called Traefik with Docker. It is a popular open-source cloud-native application proxy, API Gateway, Edge-router, and more. I use Traefik to secure my websites using an SSL certificate obtained from Let's Encrypt. Once deployed, Traefik can automatically manage your certificates and their renewals. In this tutorial, I'll share the necessary steps for deploying a Ghost blog with Docker and Traefik.
