Clonezilla Live 2.7.1 Released with Linux 5.10 LTS, Improved Linux Software RAID Support

The new stable release of Clonezilla Live comes three months after version 2.7.0, it’s synced with the upstream software repositories of Debian Sid (Unstable) as of January 27th, 2021, and it’s powered by the latest and greatest Linux 5.10 LTS kernel series for the best possible hardware support.

Another important change in Clonezilla Live 2.7.1 is the replacement of the exfat-utils program for supporting the exFAT file system on Unix-like systems with exfatprogs, a program providing more modern userspace utilities for the new exFAT file system implementation introduced in Linux kernel 5.7 and later. As expected, this should provide users with better exFAT support.

  • Clonezilla Live 2.7.1 Brings Linux Kernel 5.10 LTS With Improved ExFAT Support

    Clonezilla is a free and open-source disk imaging/disk cloning program that allows you to do system deployment, system backup, and recovery. It is designed by Steven Shiau and developed by the NCHC Free Software Labs in Taiwan.

    There are three variants of Clonezilla: Clonezilla live, which is a small bootable GNU/Linux distribution for x86/64 based computers, Clonezilla lite server, and Clonezilla SE.

    Recently, A new stable version of Clonezilla live was released with major changes including a kernel update to Linux kernel 5.10.9-1, an updated underlying GNU/Linux operating system, and the addition of exfatprogs.

    This release also includes other improvements and bug fixes. Let’s take a look at these changes brielfy.

    Ghost is a very popular open-source content management system. Started as an alternative to WordPress and it went on to become an alternative to Substack by focusing on membership and newsletter. On Linux handbook, we already have a guide on deploying Ghost with Docker in a reverse proxy setup. Instead of Ngnix reverse proxy, you can also use another software called Traefik with Docker. It is a popular open-source cloud-native application proxy, API Gateway, Edge-router, and more. I use Traefik to secure my websites using an SSL certificate obtained from Let's Encrypt. Once deployed, Traefik can automatically manage your certificates and their renewals. In this tutorial, I'll share the necessary steps for deploying a Ghost blog with Docker and Traefik.
