Quoting: Five more organizer tales: LibreLocal 2026, part three — Free Software Foundation — Working together for free software —
In part one and two of our reports on the LibreLocal 2026 meetups, we already highlighted fifteen different LibreLocals through the eyes of their organizers. Now, in this final part of our report, we want to share the stories of five more meetup organizers, including a report on multiple LibreLocals organized by PicaHack in Olveido, Spain, and another event that ended up drawing hundreds of participants in Poznań, Poland.
LibreLocal is a mosaic of in-person community meetups that brings people together to swap ideas, learn from each other, and celebrate free software. For LibreLocal 2026, the free software community has organized no less than forty-eight LibreLocal meetups on six continents so far, mostly during May (LibreLocal month), in answer to our February global call. There are even more events being planned for later this year. It really has been inspiring to be a part of this outpouring of energy and enthusiasm for free software.
Today, we are sharing the experiences of a few more LibreLocal 2026 organizers, mostly in their own words: Alex (United States), Alexis (Spain), Artur (Poland), Lucio (Spain), and Mikalai (Canada). Let's kick off this final part of our report by beginning in the Canary Islands of Spain.
