Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs Includes Love

Back in June we moved all the birds from the back yard to the garden. That was good for sanitary reasons and it has since then helped save water (cleaning up their poo every day was very time- and water-consuming). We've also nearly doubled their feeding, sometimes trebled (depending on factors like weather). They're "free-range", we don't 'own' them, we just choose to help them. My wife is an activist for animals.
Up until June there was one particular bird that I called "bottle" because it liked to be fed directly from a bottle. It wasn't afraid of me; it even let me pet or pat it.
When we moved all the birds the habits changed and I could no longer identify "bottle" (based on behaviour rather than distinguishable features or "looks). But yesterday I found another bird to "bottle-feed" because she trusted me. It's The Sick Bird. She seems to be improving (the feathers and 'voice'), hopefully owing to a better diet... I hauled a 20KG bag of the best seeds this past Sunday and we hope all the birds can survive the winter. We believe that more people ought to help feed nature (wildlife). Life is far more precious than money and money cannot be exchanged for life.
In the Free software community many people are motivated not by money but other factors as per Abraham Maslow's self-actualization theory/thesis (psychology).
Later this month it's my birthday (nobody is getting younger) and people my age must learn to give, not hoard. No person ever (in the history of civilisation) managed to take one's money "beyond the grave". █
