Balthazar Rouberol ☛ Making a DIY book of terrains
I recently stumbled upon the Giant Book of Battle Mats, which is a book of A3 laminated TTRPG battlemaps. The way I see it, the core idea of the book is to immerse the players into combat by providing a rich visual experience. The main issue I have with that book though, is that the maps are too rich in details, which impedes their reusability. The first time you run a battle on one of these maps, your players might have a lot of fun looking through everything their character can interact with. However, the next time, they might get a sense of déjà vu, which in turn might impact their suspension of disbelief, and ultimately, their immersion.
In this article, I'll go through my process for creating a similar book that I believe has better reusability.

Vincent Delft ☛ Vincent's blog
Been able to move VM from one host to another one is a feature that lot of sys admin are looking for. It can be to better spread the workload or to facilitate an upgrade, a maintenance activity, ...
And when this can be done without impacting the end users, this is much better for everyone.
I will explain how I did it for bhyve VM and for Jail VM. Indeed, as already explained with a Jail VM, we have access to all VM files directly from the host. As you could guess, we could use tools like rsync to facilitate the task.
