GNU/Linux in Finland in 2024

Snow in Finland

March: statCounter: GNU/Linux on Almost 1 in 10 Finnish Laptops/Desktops

Yesterday: [Video] Microsoft's Attack on Education

THE GNU/Linux operating system started in the US (1983), but kernel development was started by a Finnish student, now a naturalised American living in Portland, Oregon (US). Finnish computer users are subjected to very aggressive entryism (see Nokia), not merely some "charm offensives", from Microsoft (now Google with a datacentre). That's strategic.

Here's where the market share estimates stand:

Finnish GNU/Linux share

So that's over 7% in total for some kind of GNU/Linux.
