postmarketOS 22.12 Released with Support for Fairphone 4 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
After six months of hard work, the development team behind the Alpine Linux-based postmarketOS project, a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices, released version 22.12 with support for new devices, new features for currently supported devices, and updated environments.
The big news with the postmarketOS 22.12 release is that it introduces support for two new devices, namely the Fairphone 4 smartphone and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1″ tablet. Also exciting in this release is experimental phone call support for SDM845-based devices, such as the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, SHIFT6mq, and Xiaomi Pocophone F1 when using the mainline Linux kernel.

postmarketOS // v22.12: The One With Napali Calling
No matter if you can still whip out a skateboard around this time of year to do kickflips and indy 900s, or if you'd need a snowboard for that: the all-new postmarketOS v22.12 release is out! As usually, it's based on the latest iteration of excellent upstream developments in Alpine. See the 3.17 release notes for more about that.
v22.12, like previous releases, is geared mainly towards Linux enthusiasts; it may be a bit rough around the edges so expect some bugs and make sure to read the known issues section in this very blog post. Help with identifying and resolving issues is always greatly appreciated.
