Security Experts Always Said That "Restricted Boot" Would Harm Security (It Was About Microsoft Remotely Controlling Hardware)
Over a decade ago "Restricted Boot" was shoehorned into Linux and has caused nothing but trouble since, just as I anticipated and predicted all along.
"Restricted Boot" was not promoted by security experts, it was opposed by them.
The man who led the cheerleading for "Restricted Boot" was later forced to accept that he was wrong because Lenovo leveraged "Restricted Boot" to make strictly Windows-only laptops. Moreover, it did not enhance security in any way whatsoever. In certain ways, it worsened security.
This outcome was foretold, but someone was paid to pretend it ain't happening.
Years later his own spouse eventually found his Achilles heel: he knows no security. He does, however, pretend and he's trying to silence critics. He has done this for a long time. █
