Orange Pi Zero 4 with Octa-Core Allwinner A733, PCIe 3.0, and Wi-Fi 6

Orange Pi has shown the Orange Pi Zero 4, a compact single-board computer based on the Allwinner A733 SoC. The board combines an octa-core Arm CPU, a PowerVR GPU, a 3 TOPS NPU, up to 16GB of LPDDR5/LPDDR4X/LPDDR4 memory, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and multiple display and camera interfaces in a 50 x 55mm form factor.

MSI WS300 with 72-Core Grace CPU, Blackwell Ultra GPU, and Dual 400GbE

MSI has detailed the XpertStation WS300T60L, a tower workstation based on NVIDIA’s DGX Station architecture and GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra platform. The system is aimed at AI development, data science, inference, AI agents, and physical AI workloads, with a 72-core Arm processor, Blackwell Ultra GPU, up to 748GB of coherent memory, and dual 400GbE connectivity.

FireWire HAT with PCIe 2.0 for Tapeless DV and HDV Capture

A recent Crowd Supply campaign features the Firehat, an open-source FireWire HAT designed for PCIe-capable single-board computers including the Raspberry Pi 5 and Radxa ROCK 2F. The board uses a VIA VT6315N IEEE 1394 controller and targets direct DV and HDV capture from older digital camcorders and tape decks using Linux.

Upcoming Jetson Orin Nano 2 boosts edge AI performance to 78 TOPS

NVIDIA has announced the Jetson Orin Nano 2, an updated edge AI platform aimed at robotics, drones, machine vision, and other embedded AI applications. The new module provides up to 78 TOPS of AI performance, 8GB of memory, and an 8-core Arm CPU while retaining the compact form factor of the previous Jetson Orin Nano generation.

DXVK 3.1 Released with Initial Support for DXGI Present Parameters

Highlights of DXVK 3.1 include initial support for DXGI present parameters to fix UI rendering issues in VirtualDJ and various game launchers, such as Ubisoft Connect, and support for creating render target views on buffers directly, which is used by various older Frostbite engine titles, including Battlefield 3.

Calibre 9.14 Open-Source E-Book Manager Is Out with More AI Features

Coming three weeks after Calibre 9.13, the Calibre 9.14 release is here to introduce more AI features, including the ability to generate book covers using AI with different cover styles such as romance, sci-fi, pulp fiction, etc., as well as Anthropic and Grok backends for Claude and Grok models, while removing the GitHub backend.

VasakOS is an Arch Linux-based distribution developed in Argentina.

Rather than assembling a desktop from applications borrowed from several environments, the project develops its own desktop shell and core applications with a shared design. The desktop uses Wayland with Wayfire, while much of the Vasak software stack is built with Rust, Tauri and Vue. Arch Linux remains underneath, giving users access to pacman, the AUR and the wider Arch ecosystem.
