XDA ☛ Linux gaming got so big that even GOG couldn't ignore it anymore
Back when GOG Galaxy was released, Linux gaming wasn't in great shape. At the very least, it wasn't in the shape that it currently is. As such, GOG seemingly didn't want to bother with a Linux version of its Galaxy client, forcing its community to do all the hard work. Now, after the ownership of GOG changed hands, the company has taken a second look at Linux gaming and decided that it has gotten so big that they can't afford to ignore it anymore.

Boiling Steam ☛ New Steam Games with Native GNU/Linux Builds, including Fields of Mistria - 2026-08-05 Edition
Between 2026-07-29 and 2026-08-05 there were 138 New Steam games released with Native GNU/Linux builds. For reference, during the same time, there were 926 games released for backdoored Windows on Steam, so the GNU/Linux versions represent about 14.9 % of total released titles. A high percentage, with the spiritual successor of Stardew Valley, Fields of Mistria - which has been very well received so far, apparently superior to its inspiration in almost every aspect. Full details below!

Juha-Matti Santala ☛ My custom keyword reference guide for Magic the Gathering Battle Box
That’s why I compiled my own Battle Box keyword reference guide (see the thing I did in my intro where I used a Forest to cast a booklet. smart, huh?): it lists all 41 keywords that are present in my deck in alphabetical order and explains how they work. And the back cover has a quick guide for what “instant speed” and “sorcery speed” mean and when you can activate abilities and mana abilities.

PC Gamer ☛ Launch day performance issues and forced logins take another victim: Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls sees mixed Steam rating, especially among Linux users
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been highly anticipated for some time and that's partly because it's from Arc System Works, the company behind the likes of Guilty Gear, Blazblue, and Persona 4 Arena. Yet Steam users are disappointed in its opening few days. That's because despite many praising the game itself, it reportedly has a litany of tech issues.
The game currently sits at a 'Mixed' (56% negative) rating on Steam with almost 1,600 reviews, and it appears to have around 10,000 concurrent players on SteamDB at the time of writing. Considering it's a $60 game, that's a pretty sizable number of people.

Future US Inc ☛ Moving away from Windows is getting a little easier, as Linux will soon support more SteelSeries gaming headsets
If you've got a SteelSeries headset and a Windows-powered gaming rig, it's likely you take your pair's compatibility for granted - I know I do. Yet anyone who's made the Linux leap over the years doesn't always have the same smooth sailing, as compatibility with the best gaming headsets isn't as straightforward.
Functionality can differ when using SteelSeries headsets on Linux-powered operating systems, from battery status reporting to wireless issues, but open-source developers like Sriman Achanta are on top of it. As brought to my attention by Phoronix, Achanta has developed a patch set to drop alongside the upcoming Linux 7.3 kernel merge window that provides improved driver support for a long list of 14 SteelSeries-branded headsets, including the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5X and SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2.
