Ardour 8.10 Open-Source DAW Released with Fixes for New Major Issues
Coming a week after Ardour 8.9, the Ardour 8.10 release is here to fix some performance issues caused by the scheduling of disk input/output threads, importing of SMF (MIDI) via drag and drop to use the file name, and content-slipping of regions to update the playback buffers correctly.
Apart from fixing these new major issues that were present and reported by users in previous Ardour releases, the Ardour 8.10 release adds a new MIDI binding map for the M-AUDIO Axiom MK II controller, a new Lua script that helps you duplicate regions on the grid, and updates all the non-default colour themes.

Ardour 8.10: Hot Fixes and Final Features Before Major Update to v9
Ardour 8.10 DAW is out now, addresses several issues found in version 8.9, introduces minor enhancements, and sets the stage for the upcoming major 9.0 release. Here’s what’s new.
Following the 8.9 release, some users encountered performance issues regarding scheduling disk I/O threads. Ardour 8.10 addresses these performance challenges, making significant improvements to disk I/O, which were notably system-dependent but disruptive where they occurred.
Additionally, drag-and-drop import of Standard MIDI Files now correctly uses the filename again, and content-slipping within regions ensures playback updates in real-time.
