A while ago, Shelly creator Zoey Bauer revealed the fact that they want to create their own distro, where Shelly is the default package manager, of course. Shelly is already the default package manager in CachyOS, a very popular Arch Linux derivative, but Bauer wanted to create a new Linux desktop.
Coming more than three months after KDE Plasma 6.6.6, the KDE Plasma 6.6.7 release adds support for monitoring GPU usage for Intel A380 GPUs, improves pasting very large PNG images, and updates the Plasma Discover package manager to show Snap versions of apps in the source selector menu rather than as separate apps.
Shelly is a modern alternative to Arch Linux’s default package manager, supporting third-party app stores like AUR and Flathub, Flatpak, AppImage, and native Arch Linux packages. Shelly comes with both graphical and command-line interfaces.

Quoting: These 3 Linux distros have officially replaced CentOS —
Red Hat gutted CentOS in 2020, and after CentOS 7 reached its final EOL in June 2024, countless servers lost their free, stable foundation. Three distributions, depending on who you ask, are filling that gap right now, each with a slightly different philosophy. Here is how CentOS Stream, Rocky Linux, and AlmaLinux compare, and what each means for administrators today.
