Why Internet Infrastructure Decisions Rarely Stay Localized

The open Internet is made up of countless interconnected networks. At its best, it is resilient enough to withstand disruptions. But even narrow policy and commercial choices can have ripple effects that shape what people can access, how information moves, and who gets to participate online.

A Safer Internet Starts with Taking Action: Introducing the Online Trust and Safety Hub

How can we best help people have a safe and secure experience online? How can we help them protect themselves from scams? Detect false information? Protect their data and systems?

ChurrOS – lightweight Arch Linux distribution for modest hardware

posted by Rianne Schestowitz on Oct 01, 2026

Quoting: ChurrOS - lightweight Arch Linux distribution for modest hardware - LinuxLinks —

ChurrOS is a Colombian Linux distribution built on Arch Linux and designed for systems with limited hardware resources. It aims to provide a responsive desktop that remains approachable to people who want the benefits of an Arch-derived system without having to assemble and tune a lightweight environment themselves.

The distribution provides two distinct desktop choices. Xfce offers a conventional, familiar desktop with modest resource requirements, while Niri provides a Wayland-based scrolling tiling environment for users who prefer a keyboard-driven workflow. The project also ships a curated set of applications and system defaults intended to make the system useful immediately after installation.
