Linus Torvalds No Longer Principled, His Stance on LLM Slop Shows That
17 days ago: Stallman Has Explained Slop is "Marketing Hype Campaign" and Torvalds Agreed. The Difference is the Bribes.
I regret to say that Linus is no longer in charge of Linux. The moneyed interests control all the important decisions and the bosses of Linus call the shots. The big corporations can manipulate them all of them, collectively, using money.
I don't genuinely believe that Linus wants slop inside Linux. He habitually complains about it in mailing lists; there's also hideous code inserted and various trusted insiders can inadvertently add back doors (from LLMs) without realising it.
This is not the way to go. First Rust (a language the big majority of Linux do not understand, cannot audit code), now slop. █
