• Tor ☛ Arti 2.6.0 released | The Tor Project

  Arti is our ongoing project to create a next-generation Tor implementation in Rust. We're happy to announce the latest release, Arti 2.6.0.

  This release continues our ongoing development towards using Arti as a relay and as a directory authority, with much of the work focusing on document parsing, directory mirror support, and DNS stream handling. Additionally, on the RPC front, we are making steady progress towards RPC-based configuration management. Finally, congestion control and Counter Galois Onion cryptography are both now always enabled in arti.

• Security Week ☛ Chrome and Firefox Updates Patch Dozens of Vulnerabilities

  The update also addresses nine high-severity security defects, including use-after-free, incorrect authorization, information leak, improper input validation, uninitialized resource, and buffer overflow weaknesses.

• Harry Roberts ☛ Web-Perf Wednesday 007 – Chrome Makes Busy Workers Measurable

  There’s been a useful amount of movement since last week, although most of it is arriving through browser releases rather than grand announcements. Chrome has started exposing slow work inside dedicated Web Workers, Firefox now lets failed module loads recover, and WebKit has fixed a responsive-image preload edge case. Chrome exposes work we couldn’t see, Firefox can retry a load it had written off, and WebKit asks for the image it actually selected. Chrome’s worker change offers the most interesting field data, provided we’re careful about what it actually reports.
