Grml 2026.09 Linux Distro Is Out with Linux Kernel 7.1, Based on Debian 14 Forky

Coming four months after Grml 2026.04, the Grml 2026.09 release is powered by the Linux 7.1 kernel series and incorporates all the package updates and security patches from the upstream Debian Testing software repositories as of September 2026, which will become Debian 14 “Forky” sometime in 2027.

Ubuntu 26.10 “Stonking Stingray” Snapshot 3 Is Now Available for Public Testing

Development of Ubuntu 26.10 (codename Stonking Stingray) kicked off on April 30th, 2026, with the usual toolchain upload, based on the Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Resolute Raccoon) release, which means that it’s powered by Linux kernel 7.0 and uses the GNOME 50 desktop environment. In time, these will be updated to newer versions.

The module offers heterogeneous Arm processing, up to 8GB LPDDR4, eMMC storage, 4-TOPS AI acceleration, multi-display and camera support, dual Gigabit Ethernet, and optional Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

Rockchip RK3576 module powers edge AI dev kit with 20-TOPS RK1820 accelerator

The reComputer RK3576 compute module is based on Rockchip’s RK3576 SoC, which integrates four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores reaching 2.0GHz. Graphics are handled by an Arm Mali-G52 MC3 GPU, while the integrated NPU provides up to 6 TOPS of INT8 AI acceleration.

We are happy to announce the summer release of Kdenlive 26.08. Continuing the efforts from the last version, the core team has been focusing mostly on stability - fixing bugs and crashes while also doing lot's under the hood improvements.

This release comes with 11 crash fixes as well as improvements to the undo/redo stack for compositions and sequence creation. Work has also been done to modernize the codebase in the Qml loader for Clips and Compositions.

The majority of the new, nifty and shiny additions and enhancements in this release were made by new contributors! This seems to have become a tradition in 2026, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
