Framework Laptop 12 gets Fedora KDE Linux on pre-builts, along with new Intel Core Series 3 processors
Quoting: Framework Laptop 12 gets Fedora KDE Linux on pre-builts, along with new Intel Core Series 3 processors | GamingOnLinux —
Framework said they supplied the likes of CachyOS and Bazzite with units to ensure support is ready when it actually ships. They say you'll need Linux kernel 7.1 at least to get the best experience. They've also continued to work to improve Linux support overall, like their new fingerprint reader sensor which has been integrated into libfprint.
There's a reason they're expanding their Linux effort too - as Framework said from their customer research they found that "Almost 80% of Framework Laptop 12 owners are running Linux across a range of distros".
“The Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop contributors work hard to make the Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop edition the premier KDE experience for users. It's great to see Framework customers have the choice to have it pre-installed” - Jef Spaleta, Fedora Project Lead

Framework's most affordable laptop finally gets Linux (and a hardware upgrade)
The Framework Laptop 12 just got a welcome upgrade, particularly if you prefer Linux to Windows. Framework has updated its more affordable PC with not just Intel's newer Core Series 3 chips, but an option to have Linux pre-installed.
The new 12-inch convertible can ship with Fedora 44 KDE Plasma Desktop ready to go, with Framework promising an "excellent" experience that doesn't require extra setup. Other Linux distros should work once the PC ships, including Bazzite and CachyOS, but they'll need at least the 7.1 kernel to support the new CPU and Wi-Fi 7 radio.

Framework Computer BV ☛ Framework Laptop 12, now with Core Series 3
Framework Laptop 12 is our colorful, little, durable 12.2” convertible laptop. Across our line-up, it’s the system that is consistently the most loved (going by average Net Promoter Score in our customer surveys) and the one that historically has the highest percentage of Linux usage. It’s also the product that personally brings me the most joy to use day-to-day. With the new version, we’re keeping what you love, including all five fun colorways and the touchscreen with stylus support, and improving on performance and efficiency, day-to-day usability, and the out-of-box Linux experience.

Framework recently launched the Laptop 12, a compact 2-in-1 convertible with a 12.2-inch touchscreen and Intel’s latest Core Series 3 processors. Buyers can choose between a pre-built machine running Windows or one that comes with Fedora Linux pre-installed. It seems the latter is proving far more popular.

Upgradable laptop maker Framework is refreshing its budget 12-inch notebook with some user-requested features and a surprising focus on Linux, rather than Windows.
On Tuesday, the San Francisco company debuted the new Framework Laptop 12 over a year after the product first arrived to address the entry-level and education market. Framework Laptop 12 Arrives with Fedora Pre-installed - Fedora Magazine
Recently, Framework announced their new Laptop 12, which optionally comes with the KDE Edition of Fedora Linux pre-installed. Framework’s modular hardware has long captured the hearts of tinkerers, and many Framework users were already running Fedora Linux. Giving community members the option to unbox a hardware-validated, pre-installed Fedora KDE system is the culmination of months of effort from both Framework and dedicated Fedora community members. I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the hard work of the Fedora community that’s made this possible
